Campaigns & Social Networks

I find it fascinating how social networks and web apps are finding their way onto US presidential campaign sites. Presidential candidates are using these tools to speak with constituents and get their message across.

I have now seen links to Flickr, Facebook, Myspace, YouTube, Meetup, Google Groups and LinkedIn.

I call this Presidential Campaign 2.0. Here are some examples:

Mike Gravel

Interesting that these all seem to be Democrats too :)

Very interesting topic. I’m guessing for some of the less prominent figures these associations will be attributable to internet savvy young things, who perhaps worked as summer interns for the politicians. Those pursuing a presidential campaign no doubt have teams dedicated to such tactics.
