USA Today Turns Social Media
As you may have already heard or read about, USA Today has redesigned their site and incorporated many new social features. I can only imagine what the design teams went through to push these new features out the door.

Software that claims to make the documentation process easier always catches my eye. I am a big sucker for it. They make claims such as: time wasted creating boxes and arrows will no longer be, life will be better for everyone, and documentation will be more agile and easy to create and maintain.
Have you ever actually had this experience?
I find it fascinating how social networks and web apps are finding their way onto US presidential campaign sites. Presidential candidates are using these tools to speak with constituents and get their message across.
The Interactive Design students (which I am one of) at Capilano College have started a new blog that pulls together some of the thoughts and ideas of the next generation of New Media Moguls.
Check it out: Next Generation Media, or the opening post
Everyone and their dog has seen the video of Jeff Han's demo reel and his presentation at TED last year, but there is more for all of you (including myself) who can't get enough of these multi-touch screens.
There is great article about Jeff Han on Fast Company as well as a supporting demo video. Check it out if you are at all interested in the future of UI.
Assuming that your not sick of reading about the iPhone, Bruce Tognazzini has posted a great article (The iPhone User Experience: A First Look) looking at the history behind the UI of the device.
My new favorite page on Amazon: The Talentless Tag.
This is just hilarious. Now that Amazon has product tagging ability, you can get great views on their data that would have never been possible without the folksonomy.
I personally really like the section called: "Products NOT tagged "talentless", but should be?".
Just to keep things light around here, a little Usability Man video!
Who knew other usability specialists were into Zeppelin?

The wisdom of crowds is an interesting topic that is very open to debate. Does it actually work? Can groups of people, experts and non-experts, really work together to create a good prediction market? James Surowiecki put together a great explanation, and a really good read, in his aptly named book, The Wisdom of Crowds.
